The present work has, for central objective; the evaluation of the main elements of conditions the competitiveness of the productive chain of the handcraft in the city of Aimorés. In fact, the artisan activity, in many of the Brazilian cities, comes gaining space as important generating activity of job and income. In the specific case of Aimorés, the fact of that good part of the agricultural, situated communities in the adjacent districts to the headquarters, plays artisan activities as underlying to the farming production, beyond the resident craftsmen in Aimorés is distinguished. As research method, one opted to the primary inquiry, through applied questionnaires the 147 craftsmen. The results had indicated that, even so it exists potential of expansion of the activity; the main impediment is the commercialization of the products that lack of structuralized canals of draining. Beyond this factor, low the organization of the producers demonstrates the importance to be efforts in intention to improve the conditions of insertion of the artisan activity of the city in bigger and more income-producing markets.
