This paper deals with the relation between work security, microelectronics based technological changes and management style. Work accidents are studied as indicators of work security, that has the industry security policy as support. Aiming at understanding the complexity of this phenomenon, the theoretical review is complemented with a case study in a petrochemical company located in Camaçari Industrial Complex. The data about work accidents, when associated with the managerial profile and the industrial security policy, shows relations between the variables that lead to the conclusion that there is a strong association between work security and management practice.
