Guerreiro Ramos and the phenomenology: reduction, world and existencialism

Guerreiro Ramos's writings, produced from 1957, are analyzed through phenomenological and hermeneutic parameters to present and to discuss the phenomenological basic concepts that the author used in his works. A phenomenology and the phenomenological method are first provided. Guerreiro Ramos made use of the three pillars of Phenomenology, namely Husserl's reduction, Heidegger's world and Sartre's existentialism when he undertook to write his literary works. It has to be emphasized that the author cannot be thought of as a phenomenologist but rather a committed sociologist who desired social transformation.
