A description of a new species of Chilean Pterophoridae in the genus Lioptilodes Zimmerman is presented. The genital morphology is very similar to that of Lioptilodes zapalaicus Gielis, 1991 and Lioptilodes aguilaicus Gileis, 1991. However, the new species can be separated from that by the morphology of the genitalia. The larvae of this new species are associated with Haplopapus foliosus (Asteraceae).
