PUBLIC POLICIES FOR SCHOOL SPORTS ON THE BRAZIL-BOLIVIA BORDER: PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS' PERCEPTIONS

Abstract

This qualitative research analyzes the perceptions of teachers (Physical Education teachers) about the consequences, the obstacles and/or the possibilities in the participation and integration of commuter students – students who live in Bolivia and study in the Brazilian border city of Corumbá, in Mato Grosso do Sul – in public policies for projects aimed at school sports. Thus, between the months of March and May 2021, interviews were conducted with eleven teachers from three schools in the Municipal Education Network. The results of the study point to access barriers for commuter (border) students in sports projects due to lack of transportation, border closures, and teacher training aimed at intercultural education.
