Validating a checklist for the qualitative analysis of volleyball reception

The main purpose of this paper is to draw up and validate a checklist for serve reception qualitative analysis on the volleyball (conditioning and pass). Some education specialists of the area were invited to analyze the checklist contents and to take part in decision of intra and inter-assessors correlations. The forearms pass and pass reception tests were applied to six female scholars (from 6 up to 12 years old), and after they were recorded and analyzed. In this list conditioning and pass appeared in 4 stages: Conditioning (I) initial posture of expectancy, (II) motion towards the ball, (III) entwining and (IV) touch. Pass (I) initial posture of expectancy, (II) leg flexure, (III) touch and (IV) body stretching. List contents reported satisfactory clearness (66,7% easily understandable), appropriated technical relevance (66,7% suitable and 16,7% very suitable) and good applicability (66,7% feasible). Referring to consistence and reproducibility we can declare the list is appropriated because of intra and inter assessors correlations what ware significant for the most of assessors regarding athletes' absolute marks (2) significant inter assessors correlations as compared to athletes' marks means. Achieved results make from the checklist a very good tool for teachers and coaches to analyze the pass reception on the volleyball.
