The AA, were unable to find by micropolariscopic examination the presence of anisotropic lipoids in the tumor of the subcutaneous tissue of the rat infected by Stefansky bacilli. Cholesterol determinations in normal skin of the rat and of the tissues (tumor) of infected rats showed slight increased values for the later. However, when the water content is considered and the values repersented as dry tissue only slight differences are obtained. Total lipids values for the infected skin are higher than for the normal skin but almost the same values are obtained when calculed as dry tissue.
