Abstract
Through an analysis of the annual ceremonial cycle of the Ñuu Savi / Mixtecos community of Huaxpaltepec, Oaxaca, we trace the identity and relational order between characters in defining carnival as a cosmopolitical tool. Dances -- the context in which these relationships is reflected -- are an embodiment of otherness expressed through the world in motion; a reflection on the inter-ethnic and a space of indigenous creativity that, at different times, has been a communicative process that has demonstrated great historical continuity, in addition to being a privileged genre in which the vision of a culture shock is expressed (according to Wagner).
