Organizational commitment in a recycling cooperative

Abstract:

This paper analyzes the organizational commitment in a recycling cooperative by using the tri-dimensional model developed by Allen and Meyer (1990). The research is exploratory and descriptive, and used qualitative techniques such as observations, interviews and document analysis. It was observed that coop members who work at Cooperativa Recicla Paranaíba (COOREPA) for long periods of time tend to be affectively committed. Additionally, although coop members need their job, they are not actively engaged in production processes. Concluding, there is a lack of identification to the principles of solidarity economy.
