The text in hand was prepared with the main aim of helping ex-students of the discipline "Theory of Local Development (LD)", of the Master's Degree Course in Local Development at the Dom Bosco Catholic University, to continue discussing and perfecting the theoretical-conceptual and theoretical-operational dimensions of Local Development. In a quite colloquial style, the aspects brought out in the text concern, firstly, the triangular relationship Local Development-community-society and, secondly, the importance of the action of Local Development Agents in functional spaces of: bringing up the rear, by influencing their environments or professional entities; in the forefront, or effective militancy in their own local communities endorsed by Local Development; or of simultaneous work in the two former functional spaces.
