Valuation of ecosystem services in a supply basin on the Latin American Integration Route

Abstract:

The study valued the ecosystem services provided by the rio Santo Antônio basin, located in Guia Lopes da Laguna (MS), using data from the dynamics of land use and occupation between the years 2009 to 2019. The results showed that the value of ecosystem services provided by the classes of land use studied represented an annual flow of approximately US$ 93.8 million in ecosystem services in 2019. However, comparing the years from 2009 to 2019, a reduction of 26.44% was observed in the annual flow of ecosystem services, mainly due to native vegetation areas reduction in the basin.
