Matrix support as cooperation between crafts in the field of Health

Matrix support is defined as an organizational care and technical-pedagogical framework for delivering health care that permits sharing between matrix workers and referral teams. Through the pursuit of quality care, matrix support approximates the notions of dialogical cooperation and craftsmanship advocated by Richard Sennett. Craftsmanship is characterized as a professional engaged in doing the job well. However, everyday practice is permeated by factors that hamper problem solving, such as motivation policy, capacity building and quality measures. To address these difficulties, the professional craftsman should be able to develop his/her skills through training that overcomes the dichotomy between thinking and doing, and hand and head, articulating knowledge, capacity building and cooperation.
