In this paper we present taxonomic adjustments resulting from a study on the genus Tibouchina in the state of Paraná. We describe a new species, Tibouchina saxicola F.S. Meyer, P.J.F. Guim. & R. Goldenb., from section Pseudopterolepis Cogn., which occurs on sandstone outcrops, on river margins, and which is apparently endemic to the "Parque Estadual do Cerrado", in the municipality of Jaguariaíva. We also synonymize Tibouchina catharinensis Brade under T. dusenii Cogn., and Tibouchina marumbiensis Wurdack under T. hatschbachii Wurdack.
