The archeology of work with a scientific-school patrimony or the technical reports of an adventure

Abstract

The article discusses the work of the agents who make a collection patrimonial and public, making considerations about the technical aspect of such work, highlighting the fallible and imperfect process of this activity, given the archaeological and historical aspect of the collections, in this case, a large collection of science and technology safeguarded in a Catholic secondary school in the city of São Paulo. In order to do so, it discusses the history of science and the history of education, presenting the importance of preserving scientific objects in the relationship between these two epistemic fields for the promotion of investigations and other activities. Finally, it highlights the work of inventorying the school's Physics collection, to shed light on real difficulties in the process of patrimonialization of scientific-educational collections, questioning the historical meaning of the word "patrimony" from examples situated in a certain time-space context.
