The performance of seven tomato genotypes was evaluated under protected cultivation in an experiment conducted in the North Fluminense region, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, from May to September 2001. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with seven treatments (five hybrids: Bonus, Cronos, Erika, Pegasus, Vitara and two cultivars: Santa Clara and Santa Cruz), with four replications. Vitara hybrid produced fruits with highest number of locules (5,25), length (53,67), diameter (69,75 mm) and average weight (147,35 g).
