Abstract:
This paper analyzes images produced by TV Tupi (Rio de Janeiro) on the 1968 movement in Brazil, especially the Passeata dos Cem Mil. We discuss the historical construction of the multitude idea in Brazil, then to show how television is the place of visibility for the presentation of the multitude as a synthetic image of the twentieth century.
