ABSTRACT
This study had the objective to evaluate modifications on chemical and physical properties of Yellow Argissols under different types of coverage and land use: secondary forest, pasture and coffee plantation. Three adjacent areas were selected, representative of tableland soils in Sooretama, Espírito Santo region. To evaluate soil chemical and physical modification, in each area two soil samples (0-5, 5-10 and 10-20 cm) were taken. The results showed alterations in soil properties caused by agricultural use, mainly in bulk density, aggregation estability, organic carbon content and CEC at pH 7.0.
