Ecotoxicological testing of different formulations of bioinseticide produced at UNIVILLE subjected to a shelf test

The larvicide based on Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis is used to eliminate mosquitoes and simullidaes, acting on the larvae digestive system causing death. It is important to know the lethal dose (LD50) for the target insects and the environment ecotoxicity degree (CEC) during each characterization phase of the products in order to establish values that do not cause death or intoxication for other living beings. This article aimed to find the DL50 by bioassays with larvaes of Aedes albupictus, as well as the CEC using acute tests with the microcrustacean Daphnia similis for the product with different formulations exposed to a shelf test. The sample that showed the best CEC value was the B1 (without additives) and for LD50it was the B2 (with caffeine in composition) that showed the following values: 3526.000 and 16.815 mg.L−1, respectively.
