Studies on educational stratification: summary of the main arguments and developments

ABSTRACT:

Theories that explain the relationship between educational expansion and inequality have been developed more intensely from the changes taking place in High School in the transition from elite education to mass education and were developing countries whose educational systems accumulated earnings trends coexisting with the maintenance of indicators of educational inequalities unsatisfactory. Brazil experienced this process and only in the late 2000s studies began to broaden their analytical scope and empirical. The article aims to summarize the main arguments found in the literature to stimulate the expansion of dialogue between Brazilian and international literature.
