Echoes from sergipan’s environmental training: teachers’ discourses emergencies in the context of field education

ABSTRACT

This article seeks to understand the possibilities of environmental training in schools located in the rural area of ​​Simão Dias/SE, based on qualitative research that had as methodological support the Discourse Analysis focused on teachers’ speeches. Data interpretation was carried out under the aegis of epistemology related to critical environmental education and rural education. The results revealed that the naive conception of education and the reproductive tendency of the capitalist system’s ideals predominate through the equipping of the school and the curriculum to the dominant order in the training offered in the aforementioned locus, revealing the fragility of teacher education and the need for investment in this area educational. Furthermore, it also unveiled the alignment of Sergipe’s Curriculum and the Common National Curriculum Base with the interests of agribusiness and the invisibility of the history and struggles of rural subjects, highlighting the need to continue fighting for environmental education and training with a view to tackling socio-environmental problems.
