Youth and Adult Education in Venezuela: notes on its foundations, current state and perspectives

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this contribution is to reflectively analyze some aspects of the historical course of Youth and Adult Education (YAE) in Venezuela. For this effort, the article briefly delved into the doctrinal guidelines of the current Venezuelan pedagogical project, taking into account the contributions of the teacher Simón Rodríguez and El Libertador, Simón Bolívar, as fundamental pillars in the teleological framework of said project. Likewise, the political and legal bases of education in the country are exposed, as well as the panorama of social guarantees offered by the current constitutional framework, which serves as a foundation for educational policies in general and, in particular, for Youth and Adult Education (YAE). Finally, some programs that currently serve the educational needs of this vigorous social group are described.
