Nursing academics' understaning of families: some reflexions

The present study involves some reflexion regarding the understanding that Nursing students have of families. From the experience of Teaching Practice in the Nursing graduation program. For this purpose, the information of academic productions was analyzed considering Bardin's content analysis. This process originated three categories: families as blood related groups and/or affectionate; families and their modifications; families, history and society. The conclusion that was reached is that the nursing academics are following the (re)structuring and the (re)signification which this human group has gone through and it emphasized the need to create discussion over the issue in the graduation program
