ABSTRACT

With six decades of activities, Fapesp has gained wide recognition for its support to science, technology, and innovation. This objective is fulfilled in relation to universities and research institutes. At the same time, it contributes to open new horizons for companies that seek innovation to achieve competitiveness and sustainability. To acknowledge the contribution of the pioneers who conceived this institution, this text highlights results and impacts, as well as selected partnerships. At the dawn of its seventh decade, Fapesp’s challenges include promoting open science and monitoring research impact, based on scientific rigor and aligned with the public interes.
