This paper deals with some issues regarding the reorganization of the Health System in Brazil. First, it focus on the improvements and difficulties faced in the process of reorganization of the Health System. It presents data about the evolution of the public health service and information regarding changes in the management of the System as a result of the decentralization process. It also discusses the governmental proposal of reforming the Health System, in the light of Administrative Reform. Finally, the paper highlights the significance of discussing the reform of the Health System during the X National Health Conference.
