IMPLANT OF SILICONE TUBE IN REPAIR OF LACTÍFEROUS PAPILLARY SINUS IN DAIRY COW: AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY

SUMMARY In this experiment, ten dairy cows were been distributed in two groups of equal number to implant a silicone tube in the lactíferous papilary sinus. Group number one: the prothesis has been fixed to lactíferous sinus by suture on the place during sixty days. Group number two: the prothesis has been implanted together with urethral catheter and removed twelve days after the surgery. On all the animais have been done evaluations of the milk's flowing and macroscopics and microscopics studies of the lactíferous pappilary sinus. In group number one the results indicate alterations of the lactíferous pappilary sinus, mastitis and displacement of the silicone tube. In the other group the results have been excellent, being the most advantageous method.
