CLINICAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF CANINE PERIPHERICAL NERVOUS REGENERATION BY ALIGNMENT WITH A SILICONE

Five dogs were submitted to a partial excision of the lateral branch of the superficial radial nerve approximately 1cm long. The nervous stumps were introduced in a silicone tube, kept fixed and directed. Each nervous stump was submitted to biopsy at different times. The regeneration potential of the peripheral nervous tissue was evaluated by gross and microscopic examination.
