cadernos pagu: A Retrospective of 26 Years of Scientific Production, Collaboration and Citations

Abstract

This research presents a retrospective analysis of the journal cadernos pagu and characterizes the papers published in the journal between 1993 and 2019 based on bibliometric indicators of production, collaboration, and citation. The analysis of the research corpus, composed of 732 articles and 18,687 cited references, allowed us to visualize the theoretical-methodological foundation of cadernos pagu, demonstrating, in addition to the analysis of the journal, the process of constructing science. The most productive authors are from Brazilian public universities. An inequality of publications among different regions of the country was identified. There was a predominance of single authorship, with a small increase in collaborative texts over the years. The collaboration found among authors is characterized by several small groups of different authors. The most cited journals are mostly Brazilian and published by public federal universities and scientific associations and foundations. Among the most cited journals, there is a predominance of those that publish about feminism and gender studies. We conclude that the publications in cadernos pagu are in line with other research on gender studies, accompany the development of feminism and gender studies in Brazil, and follow the publication trends in the social sciences and humanities.
