The sacred room: education and the struggle against racism in Brazil

This article intends to present some aspects of the periods of activity of the Brazilian black movement in the field of education after the abolition of slavery. Its core idea is to show that this movement considers education to be an instrument of utmost importance to face racism and guarantee the integration and prosperity of blacks in Brazilian society.
