Brazilian female engineers: gendered obstacles to professional insertion

This article reviews the evolution of the presence of women in engineering courses and occupations based on official statistical data. It aims to investigate the professional experience and expertise of both male and female engineers and their representations about their occupation and on the place given to women in it. The article also discusses some of the gender limitations female engineers have stumbled upon in their professional insertion and in to make progress in their carriers.
