INFORMAL LEARNING IN ARGENTINA: CONTRIBUTIONS TO WORKERS’ EDUCATION

Abstract

Education and training for work within the framework of lifelong education recognizes the learning that adults do outside formal education and organized courses, in relation to paid work and other areas of social life. Based on the ArCaWall survey applied to the adult population from Greater Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2011 and 2021, the article looks at changes in the extension, topics and time dedicated to informal learning during the last decade, taking into account differences among genders, age groups, occupational status and educational level achieved. Among the results, it highlights the importance of access to the educational system as a foundation for other educational opportunities throughout life.
