The work of young delivery men for applications in times of pandemic

Abstract:

This article reflects on the work of young people from São Paulo, delivery men per application during the Pandemic. It is part of the Youth Trajectories/Practices in the times of Covid-19, developed through semi-structured interview, in depth, in the online modality, with 26 young people from 15 to 29 years, whose criterion of choice was to be delivery man per application. The analysis was guided by the precarious categories of work and youth and by the subcategories: autonomy/self-management x control, risk, time and entrepreneurship. Among the conclusions stands out: the intensification of precariousization; increased competition; the decrease in the delivery payment rate; increased control; increased risks and increased working hours masked by the ideology of entrepreneurship.
