ABSTRACT
The microscopic description of the wood of Mimosa sparsa Benth. is carried out based on 30 quantitative features of its anatomical structure. The description is illustrated with photomicrographs, from all the tree anatomical sections. The structure observed is compared with literature references, in a taxonomic and phylogenetic analysis.
