LEPIDOPTEROUS ASSOCIATED WITH TWO FOREST COMMUNITIES IN ITAARA, RS

ABSTRACT

Aiming at analyzing the behavior of lepidopterous population were used light traps in plantation of Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalytus saligna and in another fragment of Decidual Seasonal Forest. The collections were done weekly from May 1997 to May 1998 in Itaara, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The faunistical index were represented by frequency, constancy, abundance and dominance. Seventy tree species were collected in plantation of Eucalyptus spp., being 63,01% of identified species unfrequent and, in the fragment of Decidual Seasonal Forest from the 77 species captured 57,14% of them were considered unfrequent. Sarsina violascens (Lymantriidae) was constant in the plantation of Eucalyptus spp. and Bronchelia puellaria (Geometridae) and Iscadia aperta (Noctuidae) in the fragment of Decidual Seasonal Forest. With relation to abundance, the bigest percentages (36,98%) were with the commons species in the plantation of Eucalyptus spp. and 37,66% with the rare species in the fragment of Decidual Seasonal Forest.
