Influence of organic solvents on adsorption of linalool and decanal on silica gel

The influence of organic solvents (ethanol, propanol and ethyl acetate) on the isotherm of adsorption of model solutions of orange essential oil on silica gel was investigated. The model solution consisted of oxygenated compounds (linalool and decanal) dissolved in d-limoneno. The influence of temperature on the process of adsorption was determined by ternary systems (d-limoneno + linalool + decanal) at the temperature of 298,15 K . For the oxygenated compound decanal, the solvents that showed greater influence on the process of adsorption were ethanol and ethyl acetate, and for linalool all of the solvents studied were shown to influence the process.
