The use of dalapon weedkiller against Imperata brasiliensis Trin.

SUMMARY
DALAPON (Dow Chemical Co.) has been tried against Imperata brasiliensis Trin., which up to now has not been effectively killed by chemicals.
Using the product dissolved in water, in doses of 0.25 to 1.00 g acid per square meter, the reduction in the infestation was as high as 68% in one application as compared with the check, counts being made 8 and 7 months after Dalapon was applied on the leaves. There were no distinct results for the different doses tried even when the weed was cut before and the weedkiller applied on new sprouts. At the time of counting the weed in the treated plots was 60 cm high while in the check plots reached 1.0 m.
