'Centenário': new yellow-fleshed peach selection for mild climates

'Centenário' (IAC 1880-30) is a new red-skin-yellow-fleshed peach selection of the Instituto Agronômico, Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil, adapted to mild winter regions. It was originated as an open-pollinated seedling of 'Ouromel-2' ('Ouromel' x 'Sunred'). The low chilling requirement, high plant vigor and productivity, large fruit size, besides the excellent fruit appearance, quality and taste, are characteristics that justify the inclusion of this new selection in the commercial peach orchards of São Paulo.
