At the Jundiai Experiment Station in 1971, the effects of four types of sets on the production of strawberry (Fragaria hybrids), cultivar Campinas, were studied. The types of sets were the following: a) sets from runners planted in wood plate pots; b) sets from runners planted in pots of black plastic with drainage; c) sets from runners planted in the field, in the spacing of 10 x 20 cm; d) sets from crown division planted in the field. Considering the yields of May, at a time when prices are highest because harvest begins, the treatment b was superior to all others; considering the total yields from May up to November there were no differences among the four treatments.
