Abnormal ovaries in the cultivated peanut plant

SUMMARY
The normal peanut ovary is uniloculated and contains a variable number of ovules, depending on the variety. When examining the ovaries of the peanut varieties Roxo, Spanish 2B, Tatu, NC-4, and B-33 the writer found that the two first-mentioned presented a low percentage of several abnormalities. Most of these consisted of double ovaries fused for some length, having two independent styles and locules; some other types, less frequent, were also described.
