The supervision in in-service mathematics education and professional development

This study aimed to understand the vision of supervisors of an in-service mathematics education program about their supervising practices and their impact on the professional development of those involved in the supervisory process. A qualitative approach was used, based on case studies of two supervisors. The results regarding the supervisors´ points of view about their supervisory practices show that their practices incorporate elements from different supervising scenarios, in particular Clinical, Reflexive, Personal, and Ecological ones. With respect to the supervisors´ views about the impact of their supervisory practices in their own professional development and the professional development of supervisees, the results support the conclusion that there was impact, from the participants' point of view.
