Sharing stories and opinions: the product of a study on the history of mathematics education

We describe the development of educational materials in association with historical research conducted as part of a Professional Masters degree program in Mathematics Education. The Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) requires that research developed in a Professional Masters must generate a product that contributes to the practice of the professionals involved. The development of educational material in association with historical research is something new, as this type of research is traditionally linked with academic Masters degree programs. Thus, I describe how the theoretical reference was applied in the course of conducting the research A history of primary teaching in times of modernization of school mathematics, Vassouras 19501969 and how the study, including the activities carried out during the internship, led to the development of the educational material.
