RESUMO O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar e discutir a importância da articulação existente entre semiótica e ideologia como marca original e fundante do pensamento do linguista brasileiro José Luiz Fiorin. Dentre tantos trabalhos por ele publicados, explicitando e explorando essa constitutiva relação, a escolha aqui recai sobre suas duas primeiras obras - Linguagem e ideologia e O regime de 1964: discurso e ideologia. Esses livros inauguram, no final dos anos 1980, conforme os títulos explicitam, a coerência da maneira como o autor compreende linguagem em consonância com a vida e, especialmente, com os valores em tensão que regem a vida social e cultural de uma comunidade. Essa postura pioneira dentro das áreas do conhecimento em que se insere, com destaque para a Semiótica greimasiana, oferece e inspira, já nesses dois estudos, caminhos teóricos e práticos para a constituição das pesquisas semiótico-ideológicas e, a partir daí, para a pertinente leitura de um Brasil submetido a uma truculenta ditadura.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This paper aims to present and discuss the importance of the articulation between semiotics and ideology as an original and founding feature of the thinking of the Brazilian linguist, José Luiz Fiorin. Among his many published works, which show and analyze this constitutive relation, for this paper we have chosen his first two works - Linguagem e Ideologia [Language and Ideology] and O Regime de 1964: Discurso e Ideologia [The 1964 Regime: Discourse and Ideology]. At the end of the 1980s, those books initiated, as their titles show, this author's coherent understanding of language in consonance with life and, especially, with values in tension that rule the social and cultural life of a community. This pioneering position within the different fields of knowledge of which it is part, particularly the Greimasian Semiotics, offers and inspires, from those two publications on, theoretical and practical paths for the development of research in semeiotics and ideology researches that enables relevant interpretation of a Brazil that was under a truculent dictatorship.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Em setembro de 2014, um grupo de professores e de pesquisadores reuniu-se para refletir sobre as contribuições que os trabalhos publicados por José Luiz Fiorin trazem para os estudos do discurso, do texto e para os avanços das investigações em semiótica. Este trabalho, com o qual participei do colóquio, procura examinar como o projeto didático estabelecido por esse estudioso das manifestações da linguagem tem uma importância significativa para o ensino de leitura e de produção de textos, ao mesmo tempo em que reflete os avanços realizados pelos semioticistas brasileiros e estrangeiros em relação ao aprimoramento do projeto metodológico realizado por essa teoria que investiga a constituição do sentido do texto.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT In September of 2014, a group of professors and researchers met to reflect on the contributions that the works published by José Luiz Fiorin bring to the study of discourse, text and to the progress of research in semiotics. This work, with which I joined in the Colloquium, aims to analyze how the didactic project established by this scholar of language's manifestations is relevant for the teaching and reading of text production. Besides, it also reflects the progress made by Brazilian and foreign semioticians concerning the improvement of the methodological project held by this theory, which investigates the constitution of the meaning of texts.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir questões ligadas à enunciação, dimensão de fundamental importância na concepção e estudo da linguagem, focalizando, de forma especial, a maneira como, no Brasil, essa questão é tratada pelo linguista José Luiz Fiorin em sua obra As astúcias da enunciação. ABSTRACT This article discusses issues related to enunciation, a dimension of fundamental importance to the conception and study of language. More specifically, it focuses on the way this issue is handled by the Brazilian linguist José Luiz Fiorin in his work As astúcias da enunciação [The Astuteness of Enunciation]. RESUMO Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar semioticamente a obra Elementos de análise do discurso, de José Luiz Fiorin, como um "manual de manuais", isto é, um manual didático que reúne características prototípicas da prática didática de manuais universitários e que marcou um modo de pensar e ensinar a semiótica discursiva no Brasil. Partindo da análise de textos integrados à prática editorial, como o título da obra, sua capa e a apresentação do autor, chegou-se ao inventário e à análise dos segmentos textuais concebidos pelo enunciador do manual no âmbito da prática didática, como a exemplificação e a explicação teóricas. A leitura aqui proposta busca colocar em evidência e compreender a originalidade e a atualidade dessa obra que completou 26 anos em 2015 e que desempenhou um papel estratégico na formação de várias gerações de semioticistas e analistas do discurso.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This paper aims to analyze, from a semiotic perspective, José Luiz Fiorin's book Elementos de Análise do Discurso [Elements of Discourse Analysis] as a "textbook of textbooks," i.e., a textbook that gathers prototypical characteristics of teaching activities in undergraduate textbooks. Besides, it establishes a way to think and to teach the semiotics of discourse in Brazil. Starting from the analysis of the texts pertaining to the publishing activity, such as the book title, its cover, and the author's presentation, I came to an inventory and an analysis of the textual segments related to teaching that were conceived by the textbook enunciator, such as theoretical exemplification and explanation. The reading suggested here seeks to put in evidence and to understand the originality and the contemporaneity of the book, which turned 26 years old in 2015 and has played a strategic education role for many generations of semioticians and discourse analysts.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO O objetivo deste artigo é discutir as articulações retórica/discurso, tendo como centro das reflexões o livro Figuras de retórica do semioticista José Luiz Fiorin. A obra examina a contribuição da retórica clássica aos estudos do discurso e resgata, para ressignificá-la, a noção de ornamento, que relegou a retórica a um simples estudo de figuras. Apresenta estas últimas como operações enunciativas que intensificam o sentido de algum elemento do discurso, o que acaba por lhes restituir sua dimensão argumentativa. O artigo incorpora, à sua própria argumentação, figuras de linguagem e recursos retóricos explicados pelo autor no livro.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This article aims to discuss the articulation between rhetoric and discourse, basing its reflections on José Luiz Fiorin's Figuras de retórica [Figures of Rhetoric] (2014). This work examines the contribution of Classical Rhetoric to Discourse Studies. It retrieves and brings a new meaning to the idea of ornament, which relegated Rhetoric to a mere study of images/figures. It presents figures as enunciative operations that intensify the meaning of some elements of discourse, restituting them with their argumentative dimension. The article incorporates, into its own argumentation, the figures of speech and rhetorical resources that are explained by the author of the book.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Neste artigo, retomamos as reflexões sobre 'As formas de tempo e de cronotopo no romance' feitas por Mikhail Bakhtin e apresentadas em Questões de literatura e de estética: a teoria do romance, a fim de verificar as variações do cronotopo de 'Biografias e autobiografias antigas' no romance autobiográfico contemporâneo. Para isso, analisamos os cronotopos nos romances autobiográficos Paris é uma festa, de Ernest Hemingway, e Chá das cinco com o vampiro, de Miguel Sanches Neto. Nossa leitura do cronotopo bakhtiniano nessas narrativas nos leva a relacionar as formas de configuração entre espaço público e espaço privado e diferentes estratégias de representação.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT We retrieve Bakhtin's reflections on Forms of Time and the Chronotope in the Novel present in The Dialogic Imagination: Four Essays by M. M. Bakhtin in order to verify the variations of the 'Ancient Biography and Autobiography Chronotope' in contemporary autobiography novel. We thus analyze the chronotope in the autobiography novels A Moveable Feast, by Ernest Hemingway, and Chá das cinco com o vampire [Afternoon Tea with the Vampire], by the Brazilian writer Miguel Sanches Neto. Our reading of Bakhtin's notion of chronotope in these narratives leads us to relate the form of public and private space configuration with different strategies of representation.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Este artigo estabelece uma análise dialógica dos romances O eterno marido (1870), de Dostoiévski, e Dom Casmurro(1899), de Machado de Assis, com foco no tratamento da dúvida como categoria estética pelos dois escritores. Nesse diálogo, abre-se espaço para questões relativas às especificidades da prosa machadiana e dostoievskiana no contexto do realismo e às marcas do dialogismo na escritura dos dois autores.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This article establishes a dialogic analysis of Dostoevski's The Eternal Husband (1870) and Machado de Assis's Dom Casmurro(1899), focusing on the treatment of the doubt as an aesthetic cathegory by both authors. This dialog opens room to questions related to the specificities of their prose in the context of Realism and to the signs of dialogism on the writing of the authors.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO O estudo pretende destacar a maneira como a palavra poética pode ser uma forte aliada para a diversidade do saber na busca de novas formas de ver, entender e interpretar o homem e o mundo. RESUMO Neste artigo, o objetivo é rastrear, na emergência de enunciados realizados em cartazes nas séries de manifestações de rua no Brasil em 2013 e mobilizados em rede, movimentos discursivos que sinalizam relevante alteração ética e política. De um ponto de vista dialógico de linguagem, descrevem-se as manifestações como cadeia comunicativa discursiva inspirada pelo processo de carnavalização. O espaço da rua e da praça pública, a alteração momentânea da ordem social cotidiana e a tensão ideológica que pode fomentar mudanças sociais autorizam a comparação entre a natureza discursiva das manifestações e a do processo de carnavalização. A partir daí, articulam-se teoria enunciativa e conceitos da filosofia contemporânea, como metanarrativa e condição pós-moderna, para interpretar a mudança de perspectiva axiológica flagrada em cartazes das manifestações. A análise esboçada indica que, discursivamente, de uma manifestação com pauta múltipla encaminha-se um movimento ideologicamente fragmentado que permite emergirem enunciados sem sentido, sugerindo a metacarnavalização do evento.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to show discursive moves in utterances realized in posters in the series of demonstrations that took place in Brazil in 2013 and were mobilized on-line. These moves signalize relevant ethical and political change. From a dialogic point of view, the demonstrations are described as a discursive communicative chain inspired by the process of carnivalization. The scenario of the streets and of the public square, the momentary alteration in the ordinary social order and the ideological tension which can promote social changes authorize the comparison between the discursive nature of the demonstrations and the carnival process. From that standpoint, concepts of contemporary philosophy, such as metanarrative and the postmodern condition, and the theory of the utterance are articulated in order to interpret the axiological change expressed by the posters. The analysis developed indicates that what started as a multiple agenda demonstration seems to have discursively changed into an ideologically fragmented movement. This fragmented movement allows meaningless utterances to emerge, suggesting that a metacarnivalization takes place.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Elegendo tanto contraposições a outros pensadores - Barthes entre eles -, quanto confluências com correntes do pensamento filosófico, caso em que se ressaltam os conceitos de mundo da vida e mundo da cultura, retoma-se a reflexão sobre a noção de autor, e também de sujeito, na obra de M. Bakhtin. Nesse caminho, mostra-se a relação dessas noções de autor e sujeito com outros importantes conceitos do pensamento bakhtiniano e, passando-se por quase toda a obra de Bakhtin, acaba-se por assinalar também o desenvolvimento da obra do pensador, bem como os princípios que a embasam, desde sempre, como um todo. Ao final, espera-se ter destacado que os conceitos de mundo da vida e mundo da cultura, que revelam uma importante filiação filosófica de Bakhtin, semelhante a que se verifica em G. Simmel, particularizam as contribuições bakhtinianas, inclusive em relação ao paradigma estruturalista, em contraposição ao qual se iniciou a reflexão.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT Electing contrasts with other theorists, Barthes among them, as well as confluences with trends of philosophical thought, in which case we emphasize concepts of world of life and world of culture, we go back to the reflection upon the notion of author and subject in the work of M. Bakhtin. In this path, we show the relation of these notions of author as well as subject with other important concepts of Bakhtinian thought and, while examining Bakhtin's whole work, we end by emphasizing the development of the theorist's works, as well as the principles on which they have always been based, as a whole. Finally, we expect to highlight that the concepts of world of life and world of culture, which disclose an important philosophical affiliation of Bakhtin, similar to the one verified in G. Simmel, particularize Bakhtin's contributions, also in relation to the structuralist paradigm in opposition to which we started the study.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO O presente estudo tem como objetivo colocar em diálogo os caminhos sinalizados por Bakhtin e Heidegger para a compreensão e interpretação do acontecimento do ser na linguagem. Para esse fim examinamos a proposta comum, a ambos os filósofos, de instituir uma filosofia primeira, que pergunte acerca da origem do sentido, o que equivale a indagar sobre as vias de acesso à realidade que toda a linguagem e, por conseguinte, todo o discurso/texto/enunciado comportam. Foram examinados também o caráter ontológico do ser-aí (Dasein) e o papel do pensamento para a interpretação do ato ético concretizado no acontecimento do ser. Para fundamentar os caminhos de uma arquitetônica e hermenêutica da facticidade ontológicas, Bakhtin e Heidegger, respectivamente, revisitaram diversas tradições. Que papel restaria à filosofia para a compreensão e interpretação do acontecimento do ser? A resposta a esta questão parece apontar para uma compreensão/interpretação ontológico-hermenêutica cujos caminhos tentamos desvelar.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT The purpose of this article is to place into dialogue the paths indicated by Bakhtin and Heidegger that lead to the understanding and interpretation of the event of being in language. Thus, we analyzed the philosophers' common proposal for establishing a first philosophy (prima philosophia), which questions the origin of meaning. This is equivalent to inquiring about the access to reality that every language and thus every discourse/text/utterance provide. We also examined the ontological character of Dasein(being-there) and the role of thinking for the interpretation of the ethical act materialized in the event of being. In order to lay the theoretical foundation of the paths of an architectonics and hermeneutics of ontological facticity, Bakhtin and Heidegger, respectively, revisited several traditions. What would the role left to philosophy be in understanding and interpreting the event of being? The answer to this question seems to point to an ontological-hermeneutic understanding/interpretation whose paths we attempted to unveil.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO A audiodescrição (AD) consiste em fornecer a pessoas com cegueira e baixa visão a tradução sonora de processos comunicativos visuais e audiovisuais, como programas de TV, obras de artes plásticas ou ópera. Esta atividade se formalizou na década de 1980, nos Estados Unidos, a partir do modelo "descreva o que você vê". Tal proposição, o audiodescritor, empunhando a controversa bandeira da "objetividade", oferece leitura supostamente isenta - e em certa medida protocolar - sobre aquilo que observa. A escola americana prosperou e se disseminou pelo mundo, tornando-se o padrão da AD realizada, inclusive, no Brasil. Recuperando, contudo, a melhor tradição tupiniquim da "transcriação" ou "recriação", defendida pelos poetas concretos, lançaremos, ao menos para as artes visuais, outra proposta metodológica/experimental: o uso de diagramas poéticos sonoros para a realização da AD, compreendida como tradução intersemiótica. Acredita-se que a camada sensível, tão cara às artes, é muitas vezes perdida no tecnicismo da AD normatizada, e que construções diagramáticas talvez possam recuperar esta dimensão através de signos sonoros inteligíveis mas, sobretudo, sensuais. Há, conforme explicamos, certa articulação estética, ética e semiótica que referenda a proposta aqui apresentada.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT Audio description (AD) is the act of providing blind and low vision people with a sound translation of visual and audiovisual communication programs, such as TV shows, artworks, or operas. This activity was formalized in the 1980s in the United States, using the model: "describe what you see." In this model, the audio describer, wielding the controversial banner of "objectivity," offers a supposedly impartial - and to some extent protocolized - reading of what he/she observes. The American school prospered and spread around the world, becoming the standard for AD, even in Brazil. However, by recovering the best Tupinikin tradition of "trans-creation" or "re-creation," defended by the concrete poets, we raise, at least for the visual arts, another methodological/experimental proposal: using sound poetry diagrams to perform AD, a process known as intersemiotic translation. It is widely believed that the sensitive layer, which is significant in the arts, is often lost in the technicality of standardized AD, and that diagrammatic constructions, can perhaps recover this dimension through sound signs that are intelligible but, above all, sensual. There is, as we explain, a certain aesthetic, ethical, and semiotic articulation that reinforces the proposal presented here.
