Evaluation in private higher education as a technology neoliberal regulation

Abstract

This article analyses how evaluative practices present in the Physical Education training curriculum from a private institution of higher education forms people amid allusions to the entrepreneurial culture through efficiency, flexibility and merit. The empirical data were compared with the contributions that cultural studies, in their post-structuralist grain, have provided the debates on the curriculum. The results indicate that subjects are spoken, thought, and set up within the assessment practices that contribute to the consolidation of neoliberal ideology in which the state assumes the role of examiner and the subjects become clients responsible for themselves.
