Humanism in the education of the administrator: the UFSC case

The purpose of the present study was to describe and analyze the humanistic education offered to the students of the Undergraduate Administration Program of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), comparing the first available curriculum, of 1978, to the curriculum of the year 2006 . This work is part of a master's thesis, that researched the situation of the Administration Program at UFSC within the discourse of humanism. This was a descriptive exploratory research. From the analysis, one can conclude that humanistic teaching significantly decreased in the Undergraduate Administration Program at UFSC and that it presents characteristics of specialized education.
