Knowledge management practices in graduate course assessment in INEP/MEC

The evaluation of undergraduate courses conducted in the country seeks to identify the actual teaching conditions offered to students and ensure the transparency of data on the quality of Brazilian higher education. In order to improve this process, the Anísio Teixeira National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep) has published new external evaluation instruments. In this sense, the objective of this article was to identify knowledge management practices to help higher education institutions (HEIs) meet the requirements of the new assessment instrument for recognition and renewal of recognition of Inep's on-site and distance-learning undergraduate courses, aiming at obtaining the maximum concept. Therefore, a documentary research was carried out, based on this new evaluation tool for Inep undergraduate courses. Twenty-four indicators of dimension 1 of the instrument were analyzed and for each indicator knowledge management practices were identified. The results indicate nine knowledge management practices, and each indicated practice can meet several indicators and, if properly applied, can help the HEIs reach the maximum concept in the MEC evaluation processes.
