Quality in higher education: from conceptual diversity to the inexorable subjectivity of definitions

This article approaches and analyzes the different concepts and understandings of quality in the scope of higher education. First, the text revises the definitions of quality based on the taxonomies presented by the most respected researchers on the subject; next, it presents a set of terms which have been identified recently with the idea of quality. Finally, the inexorable conceptual relativity of quality in higher education is discussed.
