Time changed; did women change? Memories of higher education women professors

The article refers to a research carried out on the life history of women who are Higher Education professors and teach at the graduate program in Education at the University of the State of São Paulo, from their educational processes to the challenges they had to face at their teaching careers at the university. These data were analyzed along with the information provided voluntarily concerning the interface of their professional and their personal life, such as family origin, marriage and maternity, as well as the social expectations regarding gender roles. The data were collected through free testimonials whose main objective was to observe whether the achievement of women, during the 60's and 70's, were somehow influenced by the feminist movement in Brazil and showed repercussions on their work and daily life. It was intended to detect if the gender relations in society had any impact on their lives and on their professional accomplishments.
