ABSTRACT
This article discusses the different conceptions of museum which, in the 1970s, rivalled its – at the time prevalent – modern conception. For this purpose, it analyzes the magazines Malasartes and A parte do fogo considering them as possible printed museums in a dispute with the underlying idea of modern museum behind the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro.
