Havana as In-Between: Dazra Novak in the City

Abstract

The recent configuration of the city of Havana in the literary texts of young Cuban narrators can be thought from the in-between (Homi Bhabha, 2007), from the deterritorialization / reterritorialization movements (Deleuze and Guattari, 2004) and even from the non -place (Augé, 2002). This text has as a fundamental line of discussion the analysis of the recent configuration of the city of Havana from the first two books published by the Cuban writer Dazra Novak. For this, the work of this writer has been put into dialogue with the theoretical contributions of Deleuze and Guattari (rhizome), Gisela Heffes (imaginary city), and Hommi Bhabha (in-between). All this has allowed us to glimpse that in the scriptural set of this narrator there is an attempt to narratively establish a hinge, double, round trip, typical of the in-between (place).
