FORMAL RECORD OCCURRENCE OF CYRTOMENUS SP. (HEMIPTERA, CYDNIDAE) IN ARTICHOKE (CYNARA SCOLYMUS L.) IN BRAZIL

ABSTRACT

This paper reports the attack of Cyrtomenus sp. (Hemiptera, Cydnidae) on artichoke (CynaraScolymus L. Asteraceae) roots in the region of Piedade, (23º 43’S 47º 25’W), state of São Paulo, Brazil. Reduction of 15% in total production was observed. The symptoms caused by the insect on the plant are described.
