The dememorized girl and the dismembered body

ABSTRACT:

What enables us to feel ourselves, be ourselves? How can we experience the sensation of permanence whithin our bodies in this world? This article starts off from the clinical experience of a girl who thinks she is unable to remember the past. Nevertheless, we are aware that it is our stories that narrate who we are, allowing us to be "ourselves". In order to cover this trajectory, the Lacanian concept of logical time is followed, along with the concepts of life and experience of Walter Benjamin, and the book Endless history.

Keywords:
psychoanalysis; memory; narrative; body; fiction.
